Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), an
autonomous body, which has been authorised by the IBA to conduct the written
test for recruitment of Clerical/ Managerial Cadre posts in designated banks of
Public Sector. A Common Written Examination (CWE) will be conducted ONLINE in
December-2012 (Tentative) by IBPS for Clerical Cadre posts in the
following 20 Public Sector Banks:
Allahabad
Banks, Andhra Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Canara
Bank, Central Bank of India, Corporation Bank, Dena Bank, IDBI Bank, Indian Bank,
Indian Overseas Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Punjab National Bank, Punjab
&
Sind Bank, Syndicate Bank, Union Bank of India, United Bank of India, UCO
Bank, Vijaya Bank.
The successful
candidates will be given a scorecard. This score card will be essential for
making an application for the Clerical posts in any of the participating bank.
Eligibility
for CWE of Clerical posts:
Age: 20-28 years
as on 01/10/2012, (Relaxation as per rules for SC/ST/OBC/ PH/ ESM)
Qualification: Degree
in any discipline from a recognised University and Computer Literacy.
Format of
Examination: The examination will be
of 200 marks. Reasoning, English Language, Numerical Ability, General Awareness
with special reference to Banking Industry and Computer Knowledge will be the
five parts carrying maximum 40 marks each. Questions will be of MCQ type. There
will be a penalty of 0.25 mark for one wrong answer.
Application
Fee : Rs. 400/- (Rs.50/- for SC/ ST/ PWD/ ESM candidates) can be paid from 15/10/2012
to 05/11/2012 either online at the time of filling the application form online OR be deposited in CBS branches of 7
selected banks (Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra,
Central Bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank, Punjab National Bank, United Bank
of India) till 09/11/2012.
