The Secondary Education Department, Govt. Of
Assam has prescribed the amended qualifications for direct recruitment to the post
of graduate teachers. Accordingly the first
Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) for Secondary
Education in Assam will be conducted in the last week of February, 2013. Applications are
invited from eligible candidates for appearing in the Assam TET. Brief details
of the notification regarding TET are given below:
Name of Examination: Assam Teachers
Eligibility Test (ATET)
Eligibility:
- Graduate Teacher: BA/ B.Sc. / B.Com with 50% marks with B.T. / B.Ed. degree from any recognized university.
- Hindi Teacher: Praveenn/ Ratna in Hindi with 50% marks having degree qualification from any recognized university or B.A with Hindi as one of the subject with 50% marks and B.T. / B. Ed. degree from any recognized University.
- Classical Teacher (Sanskrit): Shastri with 50% marks having degree qualification from any recognized University or B.A with Sanskrit as one of the subjects with 50% marks and B.T. / B.Ed degree from any recognized University.
- Classical Teacher (Arabic, Urdu, Persian etc.): MM with 50% marks with degree qualification from any recognized University or B.A with Arabic as one of the subjects with 50% marks and B.T. /B.Ed. from any recognized University.
- Classical Teacher (Assamese/ Manipuri Language): B.A with Honours/ Major in concerned subject with 50% marks and B.T. /B.Ed. degree from any recognized University.
- NOTE: A candidate not having B.T. / B.Ed. as professional qualification may also apply since relaxation is available up to 01/01/2015 for recruitment to the post of graduate teacher.
- Age Limits: Maximum 38 years as on 01/01/2012 (Relaxation as per norms).
Structure
of Examination: The
examination shall be of 200 marks. 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) will be
asked from the following subjects/ areas:
- General Studies & Current Affairs: 100 Marks
- Pedagogy & General English: 100 Marks
Application
form and Fee: Candidates
can obtain the application form from designated post offices of Assam from
01/10/2012 to 10/10/2012 against a payment of Rs. 350/- as the application fee.
How to
Apply: Applicants
are required to apply till 30/10/2012 and submit the application at any of the
designated post offices.
