Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)-2013


Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), an all India examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in Engineering and Technology is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science (IIS) and Seven IITs (IIT Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee) on behalf of the National Coordination Board – GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. The GATE Score is used for admissions to various post-graduate programmes (eg. M.E., M.Tech, direct Ph.D.) in Indian higher education institutes with financial assistance provided by MHRD and other Government agencies. This score may also be used by Public sector units for employment screening purposes.  Applications are invited for GATE-2013. Important dates and other details about GATE-2013 are as follows:


Commencement of Online Application submission: 01/09/2012.
Last Date for Submission of Online Application Form: 30/09/2012.
Receipt of Hard-copy of ONLINE Application at respective GATE Offices: 08/10/2012.

Dates of Examination: 20/01/2013 (Online) and 10/02/2013 (Offline)
Announcement of Result: 15/03/2013.

Application Fee: Rs. 1200/- for General and OBC (Non-creamy), Rs. 600/- for SC/ ST/ PD candidates, while women are exempted from payment of fees.
