The Director, Regional Institute of English, Chandigarh Administration, Sec-32 C, Chandigarh has directed the Director, Secondary Education Haryana, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh Administration to nominate 15 teachers per state through all DEO’s (District Education Officers) for a Three Months PG Certificate in Teaching of English for Qualitative improvement in English Teaching. The TGT/ PGT/ Lecturers and all teachers teaching English at Middle/ High/ Senior Secondary level are eligible for this course. The course will commence from 26/07/2011. This course includes six subjects: English Linguistics, English Phonetics & phonology, Contemporary English Grammar & Usage, Methods of English Teaching, Research & material production and Communication Skills. All the DEOs are directed to nominate teachers (total 15 teachers are to be nominated from each of the Five states/UTs). These teachers shall be given a stipend of Rs. 2100/- per month (Rs. 300/- from Chandigarh Administration and Rs. 1800/- under GOI scheme).
Note: The stipend for the teachers from Chandigarh will be Rs. 1990/- (Rs. 190/- from Chandigarh Administration and Rs. 1800/- under GOI scheme).
