All India Council of Technical Education has approved the proposal of a Common Entrance Test for admission to all Management Institutes other than IIM’s from 2013. AICTE had recently decided that a Common Admission Test (CAT) for admission to all IIM’s (Indian Institute of Management) and a Common Management Admission Test (MAT) for admission to all other institutes will be conducted. Due to this decision of AICTE, 2500 Management Institutes will be able to give admission to the students through a single Common MAT, while nearly 3, 00, 000 students will avoid the unnecessary harassment due to appearing in different entrance tests for admission. The students shall have an option to get admission in any institute according to their merit.
