THE INDIAN NAVY invites applications from the final year Engineering students who are UNMARRIED to join the Indian Navy as Short Service Commissioned (SSC) Officers in Technical / Executive Branches under University Entry Scheme (UES) for Final and Pre-final year Students Course Commencing June -2013 and June-2014 respectively. Brief details of the advertisement are as follows:
Qualifications: Applicant should be studying in an AICTE approved College/Institution with one of the following disciplines and should have obtained a minimum of 60% aggregate marks/ 6.75 CGPA overall grade on 10 point scale:
1. Engineering Branch (Only Men): Mechanical / Marine / Automobile/ Mechtronics/ Industrial and Production/ Metallurgy / Aeronautical/ Aerospace.
2. Naval Architecture Cadre (Men and Women): Mechanical/ Civil/ Aeronautical/ Aero Space/ Metallurgy/ Naval Architecture.
3. Electrical Branch (Only Men): Electrical/ Electronics/ Tele Communication / Instrumentation / Instrumentation and Control / Electronics and Instrumentation / Electronics and Communication/ Power Engineering / Control System Engineering / Power Electronics.
4. General Service (X) (Only Men): BE/ B.Tech. in Mechanical/ Marine/ Aeronautical/ Production/ Computer Science Engineering/ Information Technology/ Control/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Telecommunication.
5. Pilot (Only Men): Any stream of BE/ B.Tech.
6. Observer (Only Men): Any stream of BE/ B.Tech.
7. IT (Only Men): BE/ B.Tech. Information Technology/ Computer Science Engineering/ Computer Engineering.
8. Logistics (Works) (Men and Women): BE/ B.Tech. in Civil/ Architecture
Age Limits: Between 19 to 24 years (candidates to be born between 02 July 1989 to 01 July 1994 (both dates inclusive) for Final Year and between 02 Jan 1990 to 01 Jan 1995 for Pre Final Year candidates. (Relaxation as per norms if any)
Height: Male - 157 cms and Female - 152 cms with correlated weight.
Pay Scale: Rs.15600-39100 grade pay Rs.5400/- plus MSP Rs.6000/-
SSC: Short Service Commission is granted for a term of 10 years, extendable to 14 years, subject to service requirements and performance/willingness of the candidate.
