Entrance Test IGNOU B.Ed. for January 2012


School of Education, Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi invites applications for B.Ed. programme (Distance mode) commencing January-2012. Important points & information are as follows:

Duration of Course:
The minimum duration of the programme is two years. However, the maximum period allowed for completion of the programme will be four years.

Eligibility: Graduation or PG Degree with minimum 50% marks.
Note: The condition of 50% marks shall not apply to persons appointed as teachers prior to the commencement of the National Council for Teacher Education (Regulations Norms and Procedure) Second Amendment Regulations, 30.3.2010 and Gazette Notification dated 26.7.2010.

Experience: Two years’ (completed on or before the last date of submission of application) full time teaching experience on temporary/ permanent basis as Primary/Graduate/Post Graduate teacher in a Primary/ Secondary/ Senior Secondary school with registration number recognized by the central or a state government or a union territory. The teacher should be in service at the time of submitting application form as well as at the time of producing the original documents at the Regional Centre.

Admission Process: Admission will be done at Regional Centre level on the basis of the score obtained in the entrance test conducted by IGNOU all over India. The final admission to the programme shall be after production of proof of eligibility alongwith original certificates and programme fee.

Entrance Test: The Entrance Test will be held on 21st August 2011. For appearing in the Entrance Test, a candidate has to submit the Application Form duly filled in, which is enclosed with Prospectus 2012. No other document is required to be submitted alongwith form. Admit Cards will be provided to the candidates before 10 days of the Entrance Test.

Way to apply for Entrance Exam: First obtain the Prospectus from the nearest Study Centre of IGNOU and submit the same duly filled in at concerned regional centre. Cost of the prospectus 2012 is Rs. 500/- (By Hand) and Rs. 550/- (By Post)

Programme Fees: Rs. 17,400/- for the entire programme in Lump sum in the first year only.
